What We Are Looking For:
This exciting opportunity is strongly suited for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. This position will work closely with their principals to meet our clients' needs. The successful candidate will manage the daily operation of three legal practices with a primary focus in Bankruptcy & Insolvency and a secondary focus in Commercial Litigation.
Responsibilities:
Manage the daily operation of legal professionals with a primary focus in Bankruptcy & Insolvency and a secondary focus in Commercial Litigation
Manage calendar and arrange meetings
File emails and assist with internal document management
Book Court appearances and managing Court service/filing deadlines
Liaise with process servers
Liaise with mailroom
Prepare, edit and complete all necessary correspondence and documentation including Demand letters, Service letter and emails with respect to Court materials, correspondence to Courts and parties in legal proceedings, Notices under the Personal Property Security Act
Assist with the finalization of various litigation documents for the Commercial Courts including but not limited to: application/motion records, pleadings, notices, affidavits, affidavits of documents and bills of costs
Upload and hyperlink Court materials on Case Center
Assist with duties related to accounting, budgets, posting dockets and issuing invoices
Take initiative to appropriately maintain file organization for assigned lawyers
Produce the highest quality of work
Handle daily administrative details

Requirements:
Minimum of two years' previous experience as a Legal Assistant in Litigation
Successful completion of a related post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program
Excellent knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure* Knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Actwould be considered an asset
Experience filing/submitting and formatting materials for the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List) would be considered an asset
Previous experience with ACL is considered an asset
Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands
