Legal Administrator

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of duties and working closely with the Accounting and Operations teams. This role will also include, filing applications for nonpayment of rent, generating yearly renewals, negotiating rents, filing for Fixation and representing the Landlord before the Tribunal administratif du logement (TAL). Demonstrating a high degree of integrity, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, all while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude, is essential for success in this role.



Responsibilities will include, at a minimum:



Review and update legal, non payment and rent fixation reports. Supervise lease renewal negotiations and prepare and serve notices of rent increase. Follow up on arrears, payment plans, and tenant communication. Prepare and file legal documents with the TAL. Represent InterRent before the TAL. Serve notices via Pronotif or bailiff and handle follow-ups. Draft demand letters, mutual agreements, and lease releases. Support Property Managers and site staff with legal or lease issues. Code invoices and maintain accurate reporting using Excel and Yardi.

Must-haves



Strong workplace knowledge of the Code Civil du Quebec and the Tribunal administratif du logement and the processes Excellent organization skills and attention to details Self-motivated, showing initiative and working independently Ability to prioritize and multitask Effective administrative skills Proficiency with MS-Office Word and Excel Yardi and Salesforce experience is an asset. Must be fluently bilingual in French and English

Available for occasional travel and after-hours work as needed.



Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.



Business professional at all times

Experience representing Landlords before the TAL is considered an asset.
