Position Overview
Hyland Properties is hiring a team of Lease-Up Agents to support the successful launch of our newest residential community. Reporting to the Lease-Up Manager, these temporary, part-time positions (approx. 8-12 months) are ideal for students or young professionals seeking real-world experience in real estate and customer service. Agents will be responsible for conducting showings, engaging prospective residents, and supporting the leasing process.
Responsibilities:
1. Leasing & Marketing
Showing available units to prospective tenants (in-person or virtual tours).
Highlighting property features, amenities, and benefits.
Responding to inquiries, phone calls, emails, and online leads.
Assisting with marketing efforts such as online listings, signage, and promotional events.
2. Tenant Relations
Guiding prospective tenants through the application and leasing process.
Explaining lease terms, policies, and community rules.
Ensuring applicants meet rental criteria (credit, background, references).
Serving as a point of contact for new residents during move-in.
3. Administrative & Compliance
Preparing, reviewing, and executing lease agreements.
Collecting deposits, rent, and fees when needed.
Maintaining accurate records in property management software.
Following fair housing laws and company policies.
4. Property Presentation
Keeping leasing office and model suites presentable.
Reporting maintenance issues in vacant or occupied units.
Coordinating with maintenance for unit readiness and move-ins.
5. Renewals & Retention
Contacting tenants about upcoming lease expirations.
Promoting lease renewals and handling paperwork.
Supporting resident satisfaction to encourage long-term tenancy.
6. Sales & Financial Goals
Meeting leasing targets and occupancy goals set by management.
Tracking performance metrics (traffic, applications, closing ratio).
Upselling amenities (parking, storage, premium units, etc.).

Who you are:
Able to work independently as well as in a team.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
MS Office and Yardi Voyager experience is an asset.
Legally allowed to work in Canada.
Committed to our company values.
Punctual.
Requirements:
Maintaining a professional and courteous manner with potential tenants, contractors, fellow employees, and visitors.
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a bachelor's degree (preferred in Business, Marketing, Real Estate, or related field).
Having the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively complete tasks outlined above in a timely manner.
The ability to follow oral and written instructions and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
Prior experience in sales, customer service, or hospitality is an asset but not required.

Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $22.50-$26.50 per hour
Expected hours: 8 - 16 per week
