The Centre for Autism Services Alberta is seeking
casual, part-time Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)
to work one-to-one with Autistic children in North East Calgary, Airdrie, and Chestermere.
LSAs are collaborative members of a multidisciplinary team, implementing individualized service plans under the direction of professionals to support development in areas such as behaviour, communication and socialization, cognitive abilities, motor skills, and self-help and adaptive living skills.
This is a great introductory position for individuals interested in pursuing careers in education, special education, rehabilitation, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, behaviour analysis, or psychology.
Hours of Work
4-15 hours per week
Session times available in the afternoons or early evenings to fit your schedule
Individual sessions are 2 to 2.5 hours in length and can be scheduled individually or back-to-back on weekdays
Note:Most clients are in school, so sessions typically occur after school in the late afternoon or early evening

Qualifications
Completion or active enrollment in a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
Coursework in psychology, behaviour analysis, education, social work, disability studies, nursing, rehabilitation, early childhood development, occupational therapy, or speech-language pathology is an asset
Minimum of 6 months of experience working or volunteering with children or youth
Experience working with Autistic and/or neurodivergent individuals is an asset
Clear Police Information Check, clean Intervention Record Check, and valid Standard First Aid with CPR - Level C
Reliable transportation & valid drivers license
Strong communication skills
A genuine desire to work with Autistic children/youth and their families
Solid understanding of childhood development
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of families and children/youth
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Able to work flexible hours
