dynamic individuals for casual Learning Facilitator positions

Position Overview



Learning Facilitators play a vital role in supporting students' academic engagement, social development, and emotional regulation. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in behavioural science, psychology, or education who want hands-on experience in a collaborative, strength-based setting.

Key Responsibilities



Build strong, respectful relationships with students to foster confidence and resilience. Provide direct support to students in classroom and small-group settings. Plan and implement individualized strategies that promote learning, self-regulation, and positive behaviour in collaboration with the Teacher, Director of Student Supports, and multidisciplinary team members. Collect data and maintain accurate records of student behaviours and interactions. Monitor the effectiveness of program strategies designed to meet specific objectives. Collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain a supportive, inclusive learning environment. Support both academic and social skill development. Assist in administering informal and formal screening tools to gather information. Participate in training and professional development opportunities. Maintain positive relationships and open communication with students and families.

Qualifications



Diploma in Disability Studies or a related field (e.g., Special Education Assistant, Behavioural Interventions Certificate, Child and Youth Care) plus 2 years of directly related experience. Coursework in areas such as autism, developmental delays, or mental health is an asset. Knowledge of human behaviour, positive learning approaches, inclusion and advocacy, learning through play, and interpersonal communication principles. Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies, de-escalation techniques, and CPR/First Aid. Proficiency with multimedia technology, Microsoft tools, and Apple iPads. Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Reliable transportation to and from our Riverbend site.

Pay: $170.00 per day
