The Opportunity

Rocky View Schools invites applications for a continuing, full-time (32hrs/wk) Learning Commons Facilitator position at Elizabeth Barrett Elementary School starting April 17, 2023. Elizabeth Barrett Elementary School is located in the Town of Cochrane, and serves students from Pre-K, K-4. Information regarding this school may be found at https://barrett.rockyview.ab.ca/.

Responsibilities

Promote multiple-literacies through instruction with a variety of resources in a Learning Commons (LC) environment (i.e., digital information workshops, CORE, online collections, displays and community resources)

Responsible for the ongoing development and integration of LC collections of resources, and maintenance of physical and digital collections to support current curriculum

Provide support to staff and students in the use of emerging technology in learning and critical thinking (e-resources, digital media, online databases, digital equipment and other audio-visual equipment)

Manage data entry and integrity of an online web-based library management system

Manage budget to meet curriculum, patron and multiple-literacy needs

Track and maintain designated LC equipment

Develop and maintain a LC web page

Education/Experience

Diploma or undergraduate degree in library information technology program, or a related field

Previous experience/knowledge working in a LC environment would be an asset

Familiarity with audio-visual equipment, computer technology and applications used in library/LC environments

Pre-Employment Requirements

In order to be selected as a candidate for an interview, candidates must submit proof of qualifications/education as required by the position

The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment
