As a Learning and Development Coordinator, you will be responsible for stewarding and evolving Recreation and Social Programs\xe2\x80\x99 (RSP) learning and development (LD) strategy and program. You will play a critical role in the competency and career development of employees in this new Business Unit. You will strategically seek to create professional development opportunities for staff, working collaboratively with management and supervisors to understand the unique development needs and competency gaps of employees in order to design, develop and/or deliver LD programs, training and initiatives. Primary duties include:

  • Support the development of a LD strategy for the Business Unit.
  • Assess and address specific LD needs associated with the implementation of OneCalgary\xe2\x80\x99s service plans and citizen-facing service delivery operations.
  • Collaborate with management and supervisors on the development of employee-specific professional development and learning plans and provide support for succession planning.
  • Research, design, develop, deliver and/or coordinate customized LD programs and initiatives to meet specific business and employee needs. This may include facilitating workshops, giving presentations and specialized soft skills training sessions.
  • Refer clients to other available and existing LD resources within RSP and The City, as well as to external resources as needed.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support BU projects which have LD/training as a deliverable.
  • Coordinate the BU maintenance of and support for the Corporate Learning Management System.
  • Design reports, evaluate and maintain usage statistics for the RSP LD program.





Qualifications

  • A degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Communications or a related field supplemented by additional training in adult education, with at least 5 years related experience in employee development.

  • Previous experience in a learning and development role is required.

  • Knowledge and/or training in Articulate360 experience would be considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of the Sumtotal Learning Management System would be considered an asset.

  • An intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint) would be considered an asset.

  • A demonstrated ability to build strong internal relationships and to work collaboratively across the business unit as well as to work independently is essential to this role.

  • You have excellent communication and facilitation skills.

  • Successful performance in this role requires application of established adult learning principles, facilitation, relationship-building, communication, program management, sound judgement and decision-making skills and the ability to work in a high-paced environment.

Position Type: 1 Temporary Part-Time and 1 Temporary Full-Time (up to 23 months)

Location: 2808 Spiller Road S.E.




Compensation: Pay Grade 11 $42.09 - 56.27 per hour

Days of Work: Part-Time: this position works various hours based on operational requirements.
Full-Time: this position typically works a 5 day work week with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.




Hours of work: Part-Time: 20 hours per week.
Full-Time: 35 hours per week.
