Job Description

The Learn to Skate Lead Instructor is responsible for the delivery of the Learn to Skate program, training instructors, and general safety, security and enjoyment of skating for participants in the program.

We are seeking a responsible, organized, and energetic person, who works well with a variety of ages and who are committed to providing a safe environment for our participants. Experience in coaching and instruction of children 2-12 years old.

Duties

Input on the design of the Learn to Skate curriculum and delivery of the program Ensure facility and equipment are prepared for all activities by preparing equipment, communicating set-up needs in advance Ensure completion of all administrative paperwork including curriculums, lesson plans, incident reports, staff evaluations and participant feedback forms Maintain positive relationships with parents/guardians of children, responding to concerns Ensure that all participants are treated with fairness, respect and understanding On-Ice - provide a delivery plan to the instructors; take attendance; ensure participants are grouped with the proper skill and age

Experience

Three to five years instructing learn to skate programs to children. Consistent reliability and professionalism is required.

Other

These programs run weekdays after 4pm and on weekend mornings. Candidate must be available to work these times. Programs are run out of both of our locations - North York (1107 Finch Ave W) and Thornhill (130 Racco Pkwy). Candidate must be able to commute and work from both locations.

Skills

Teaching and/or leadership Skating and hockey background Responsible, energetic, customer service, adaptability and strong teamwork skills are required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
