  • This position provides the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays each week, with the requirement to report to the primary NOVA Chemicals work location on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Employees can opt out of the hybrid schedule and will be expected to work Monday-Friday from the primary work location.

Reporting to the CIO, you will provide strategic leadership and management and be accountable to deliver highly secure, reliable and performant infrastructure services to support our business while enabling operational excellence and service delivery for NOVA Chemicals.This role defines the strategic direction for the IT Infrastructure and Operations organization and collaborates with other IT Leaders to develop and deliver the IT strategy to achieve the desired business outcomes. This role is responsible for advancing our use of modern emerging technologies (Cloud, Edge Compute, IoT, Infrastructure Automation, Mobility, etc.) while partnering closely with our Manufacturing Operations and Cyber Security teams.In this role you will be accountable for building out the foundational systems, processes, structure, and best practices to create a best-in-class IT service and operational management function. You will have accountabilities for all aspects of IT Infrastructure including but not limited to Cloud and on-premise Compute, Network and Telecommunications, Collaboration services, End User Services and the IT service desk.This role will work with business Leaders across the company to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-optimized technology solutions across our business.You Will Use Your Expertise To:
  • Hold overall accountability for the IT Infrastructure and Operations organization and lead all aspects of managing the technology environment to deliver a consistent, reliable, operational experience for all users.
  • Set the IT Infrastructure vision, develop strategic plans and execution roadmaps linked to targeted business outcomes and future state capabilities required to achieve them.
  • Enable NOVA\'s workforce productivity by designing and delivering innovative end user technology experience.
  • Oversee technical/technology architecture, identifying opportunities for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvement.
  • Build and deliver the investment portfolio and manage the infrastructure operating budget to ensure cost effective delivery of services.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and managing service level agreements (SLAs) for IT infrastructure services.
  • Be accountable for improving the maturity of ITIL capabilities such as incident management, change management, release management, configuration management, service catalog, and asset management.
  • Lead efforts to increase organization effectiveness through service modernization, simplification and leveraging Agile methodologies.
  • Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Support the development of policies, standards, and training plans for the infrastructure organization
  • Enable and manage services, acting as a service provider for core infrastructure to Operational Technology (OT) and manufacturing operations systems.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to IT employees and foster a culture of innovation, customer service and collaboration.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in computer science or equivalent with typically 15+ years related experience and continued professional development. A combination of post-secondary education and related experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of leadership responsibility in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure management including managing outsourced teams
  • Experience in applying the ITIL framework and principles to IT service delivery and management
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams
  • Demonstrated capabilities to build strong relationships and collaborate with others
  • Result driven track record of implementing innovative IT solutions that drive efficiency, performance and desired business outcomes
  • Customer focused mindset, fostering a culture of solving complex problems to achieve great outcomes
  • Experience in developing strategic plans, business planning and portfolio management
  • Excellent communicator, coach and mentor with outstanding facilitation, collaboration, and influencing skills
  • Trustworthy with high integrity, and the ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality

  • Relocation will be considered to the nearest geographical NOVA Chemicals\' location for this position
  • This role requires up to 25% travel
  • The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver\'s license and be eligible to travel easily between Canada and the United States
