Lead - Services/Packaging/Shipping (12-Month Term)
Job Type: Temporary (12-month term)

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor movement and quality of product through the department.
  • Facilitate the effective running of the department.
  • Review attendance on scheduled work shift(s).
  • Lead team start-up meetings.
  • Prepare floor check production start-up.
  • Conduct daily/weekly continuous improvement meetings.
  • Verify pitch by performance, record reasons for variation and act on flow interrupters.
  • Monitor standardized work; check compliance and reinforce/correct performance.
  • Revise production standard work as needed with supervisor.
  • Assist in solving day-to-day employee issues.
  • Coordinate staffing requirements with supervisor based on production demands.
  • Perform and coordinate employee training with new and returning employees.
  • Participate in seasonal recruitment and termination process.
  • Provide performance review feedback to supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S methods.
  • Participate in forecasting necessary supplies using Kanban cards.
  • Perform special projects and assignments as directed by management.
MINIMUM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • 1-2 years Lead or similar experience and/or completion of the Lifetouch Lead training program
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic to intermediate computer knowledge including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to train and coach other employees
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Good organizational skills and able to prioritize work
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Travel to other labs in the U.S. as required
