Job Summary:

As a Lead Video Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing all video related technical aspects of our productions, setups, whether working independently or under the guidance of a director. Your role involves hands-on technical work, leadership, and collaboration with other departments to achieve the flawless execution of events.

Roles & Responsibilities



Lead Video Setup & Execution:

Oversee and coordinate the setup, operation, and teardown of video systems for live events (e.g., projectors, LED walls, cameras, video switchers, and recording equipment).

On-Site Troubleshooting:

Identify and resolve any video-related technical issues that arise during events, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum quality.

Team Supervision:

Lead a team of junior video technicians, delegating tasks and providing guidance to ensure smooth workflow and efficient execution.

Client Interaction:

Work closely with clients to understand their video requirements and provide technical recommendations as needed.

Collaborate with Production Teams:

Communicate with producers, directors, and other technical departments (audio, lighting, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of video elements into the overall production.

Monitor Video Quality:

Ensure all video feeds, projections, and screens meet high standards for clarity, color accuracy, and resolution during live events.

Event Load-in/Load-out:

Manage and assist with the physical load-in and load-out of video equipment, ensuring timely and organized setups and breakdowns.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain records of event setups, equipment used, and any technical issues that arise for future reference.

Safety Compliance:

Enforce AVentPro safety protocols and standards on site. Appropriate PPE is worn. Pay attention to surroundings.

Qualifications



Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in live event video production, including at least 2 years in a leadership role. Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of video systems used in live events, including video switchers, LED screens, projectors, cameras, and signal routing. Live Event Experience: Familiarity with the demands and quick decision-making required in fast-paced, live event environments. Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to quickly diagnose and solve technical problems under pressure. Team Leadership: Experience leading and mentoring a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality and efficient performance. Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical team members and clients. Adaptability: Ability to work long hours, evenings, and weekends as needed, depending on event schedules. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry video equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in physically demanding environments. Manitoba Class 5 Drivers Licence
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 55 per week
