in our T&D Canada business as a Lead Designer. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this position is located in our Vancouver, BC office. Our growing Transmission & Distribution business serves the pulp & paper, wood products, bioenergy, biochemicals, carbon capture and other related sectors, offering project opportunities across Canada. Responsibilities: Providing structural design and drafting support.
Prepare complex 3D structural models using Aveva E3D
Preparing drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, using Aveva E3D and AutoCAD.
Reviewing and performing quality checks of project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation against project standards and specifications
Coordinating and working with project team members from local and regional offices
Adhering to established design guidelines and procedures
Maintaining accurate design files for reference purposes
Performing other discipline duties as requested by Structural lead.
Qualifications: Must be legally able to work in Canada at the time of application
Structural engineering technician / technology diploma from a recognized college
10 plus years structural design experience on heavy industrial projects or related design experience
Experience using Aveva E3D and AutoCAD
Drafting and design experience within a consulting engineering environment
Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
Effective communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Experience in other Structural Modeling Software (Smart 3D, Advance Steel, Revit) would be an asset
