We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fitter to join our manufacturing team. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and maintaining metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG along with experience in rigging, blueprint reading, and the use of hand and power tools. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in manufacturing, construction, or ductwork to contribute to complex projects involving plasma cutting, press brake operations, and schematics interpretation.
Ordering material and consumables help with reorganizing the shop to optimize efficiency. Able to work with staff in the field to determine components need when drawings are unavailable.
Responsibilities
Perform welding operations using MIG and TIG techniques to fabricate metal parts according to blueprints and schematics
Read and interpret detailed technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring devices to ensure precision in fabrication and assembly
Operate plasma cutters, press brake machines, cranes, forklifts, and other machinery safely and efficiently
Rigging of heavy components for assembly or installation using cranes or other lifting equipment
Assist with machining tasks as needed, including working with ductwork or structural components
Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols and procedures
Collaborate with team members on complex fabrication projects involving schematics and mechanical assemblies
Experience
Proven experience in welding MIG, fabrication, or fitting roles within manufacturing or construction environments
Strong mechanical knowledge related to rigging, machining, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation
Familiarity with plasma cutting, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, calipers, and basic math skills for precise measurements
Experience operating cranes, forklifts, or other heavy equipment is preferred but not mandatory
Knowledge of conveyor belts and aggregate systems a plus
Ability to work safely around industrial equipment while maintaining high-quality standards
Prior experience in a fast-paced production or construction setting is highly desirable
