As the Lead Server / Manager on Duty (MOD), you will serve as the cornerstone of our team's daily operations, ensuring our guests experience exceptional service and our staff operates efficiently and cohesively. You will oversee the front-of-house team, guide servers and staff, resolve customer issues, and assist in the daily management of restaurant activities while maintaining a positive and motivating work environment
Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and support servers, hosts, and other front-of-house staff during shifts.
Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure high service standards.
Foster a positive, team-oriented environment that encourages collaboration and growth.
Ensure all guests receive an exceptional dining experience by overseeing service quality and addressing customer complaints promptly and professionally.
Monitor guest satisfaction throughout service and take appropriate action to resolve issues as needed.
Uphold the restaurant's standards of hospitality, food quality, and cleanliness.
Manage the flow of service, ensuring efficient seating and table turnover, while minimizing guest wait times.
Assist with the preparation and execution of daily operations, including managing reservations, organizing the dining room, and ensuring all service stations are well-stocked.
Ensure the proper set-up and breakdown of the dining area before and after shifts.
Monitor inventory levels of supplies and communicate needs to the kitchen and bar staff.
Train new and existing front-of-house staff on restaurant policies, procedures, and service standards.
Conduct team meetings to keep staff informed of updates, promotions, or changes in procedures.
Motivate staff to perform at their best, promoting a culture of excellence and hospitality.
Enforce health and safety standards, ensuring the restaurant is in compliance with local regulations.
Oversee sanitation practices in the front-of-house areas and make sure health standards are met at all times.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the team during shifts, resolving issues and making decisions on the fly.
Maintain clear and effective communication between front-of-house and kitchen teams.
Track and report shift performance, including guest feedback, revenue, and staff productivity.
Handle cash and credit card transactions, ensuring accurate accounting of tips and checks.
Assist with scheduling, labor management, and payroll tracking.
Manage shift logs and document any incidents or concerns that arise during shifts.
Requirements
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a server in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Previous management experience preferred.
Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to think quickly, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure.
Knowledge:
Understanding of restaurant operations, including customer service, inventory control, and point-of-sale systems.
Customer Service:
Exceptional customer service skills with a proven ability to engage with guests and resolve issues.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and move quickly throughout the restaurant.
