Seeking a lead server at Toast Food Company, an up and coming Breakfast and Lunch Restaurant in Minden, Ontario.
Position Summary:
The Lead Server will work closely with the Front of House (FOH) Manager to maintain smooth daily operations. This role combines excellent guest service with leadership responsibilities, including supporting servers, maintaining service standards, and ensuring a positive dining experience for every guest. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong eye for detail, and excels at working closely with others, and exceptional hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services
Deliver friendly, attentive, and professional service to all guests.
Anticipate guest needs and ensure satisfaction throughout their visit.
Handle guest concerns promptly and escalate to the FOH Manager when necessary.
Shift Leadership
Support the FOH Manager by supervising servers during assigned shifts.
Delegate tasks and ensure side work, opening, and closing duties are completed.
Monitor dining room flow to maintain smooth and efficient service.
Step into a leadership role when the FOH Manager is unavailable.
Staff Mentorship
Provide guidance to maintain consistent service standards when FOH Manager is unavailable.
Lead by example with professionalism, teamwork, and hospitality.
Guest Experience & Service Standards
Actively work on the floor during service, ensuring smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
Greet guests, resolve complaints, and handle special requests with professionalism.
Maintain high service standards and ensure consistency.
Monitor dining room cleanliness, organization, and ambiance.
Operations & Compliance
Responsible for cash handling and POS transactions.
Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
Event Support & Coordination
Assist with planning and coordinating in-house events, private bookings, or special promotions.
Ensure seamless FOH service during events, working with both owners and BOH.
Inventory & Supplies
Monitor FOH supplies (cleaning products, service items, beverages, etc.) and assist FOH Manager with ordering, or taking inventory when needed.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years serving experience in a full-service restaurant preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with POS systems and cash reconciliation preferred.
Weekend availability required; flexible schedule preferred.
