We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Server to join our upscale restaurant team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service, exceptional guest relations skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team of servers. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fine dining environment, delivering outstanding customer service while managing daily operations and ensuring guest satisfaction. Prior experience in hospitality, food safety, and POS system is highly desirable. The Lead Server will play a vital role in maintaining the restaurant's reputation for excellence and creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.
Duties
Lead and oversee the serving staff to ensure efficient and professional service during all shifts.
Greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and serve food and beverages in accordance with restaurant standards.
Manage tables effectively, ensuring timely food delivery and guest satisfaction.
Upsell menu items and specials to maximize sales opportunities while providing personalized recommendations.
Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately using POS system and manage cash handling procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with food safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Assist with training new staff members on service protocols, POS operation, and customer service expectations.
Resolve guest concerns promptly to ensure positive guest relations and repeat business.
Support opening and closing procedures, including setting up stations and cleaning work areas.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication between front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
Skills
Extensive experience with POS TOAST and OpenTable.
Proven track record in food service within fine dining or upscale restaurant environments.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques.
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality excellence.
Ability to upsell menu items effectively through suggestive selling techniques.
Exceptional time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods.
Leadership qualities with experience supervising or leading a team of servers or hospitality staff.
Basic math skills for cashiering, billing, and managing transactions accurately.
