Mogano Jewelry is currently looking for an experienced

Lead Sales Associate

to join our retail team in our beautiful Kelowna store location. This role is also involved in our weekend markets and in-store events throughout the Okanagan Valley. The right individual for this role thrives on the sales floor, loves building genuine relationships with customers, and takes pride in delivering a sales experience that feels meaningful and memorable. This person is a natural connector who knows that great sales come from great conversations -- someone who listens, reads the room, and helps customers find pieces that fit their story. The right person for this role is outgoing, confident, emotionally intelligent, and brings positive energy that elevates the entire team. They're comfortable on camera, love being part of a brand's social presence, and are excited to lead by example.

The Lead Sales Associate role is a full-time position, working approximately 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend markets and events. The compensation for this role ranges between $19 - $21 per hour, based on experience, with excellent sales-based bonuses and incentives to create a very competitive total compensation package.

Who We Are Looking For



We are looking for a Lead Sales Associate who has 2+ years of retail sales experience, with previous experience in jewelry or accessories preferred. You are someone who truly excels at conversion -- not through pushy sales tactics, but by genuinely connecting with people and guiding them toward what feels right. You bring strong emotional intelligence, active listening skills, and the ability to read customer cues to every interaction. You're someone who loves being on the sales floor, takes initiative without being asked, and sets the standard for exceptional service.

You're also a natural leader who loves supporting and coaching teammates. You take pride in helping others develop their sales skills and creating a positive, collaborative atmosphere. You're comfortable taking on additional responsibilities like opening and closing the store, managing inventory, training new team members, and assisting with permanent jewelry appointments. You're organized, dependable, and proactive -- the kind of person who sees what needs to be done and just does it.

The Lead Sales Associate is also a key part of our community events, including our markets, pop-ups, and other external activations. You're comfortable rolling up your sleeves to make sure that everything from set-up to tear-down happens efficiently and creates the right experience for the Mogano brand. You're not afraid to work a few extra hours to make sure that every one of these events is a success!

The Role and Responsibilities



The Lead Sales Associate role is all about creating an exceptional customer experience and driving sales through genuine connection. This hands-on role will:

Reporting directly to the Store Manager, the Lead Sales Associate will be responsible for leading the sales floor with enthusiasm and energy -- setting the tone for connection, confidence, and exceptional service. Delivering a high-conversion sales experience by engaging customers with genuine conversation, active listening, and thoughtful recommendations that help them find pieces that fit their story. Guiding and coaching the sales team in building relationships that turn browsers into buyers and first-time shoppers into loyal customers. You'll lead by example and help others develop their sales skills. Supporting the Store Manager in achieving sales targets, maintaining daily operations, and filling gaps where needed in regards to staffing, inventory, and back room duties. Ensuring a positive client experience from the time every client walks in until they leave, including: Creating a warm welcome Educating them about the brand & what they can expect Assisting them in finding any specific items they desire Showing them products to pair perfectly with their selections Executing permanent jewelry appointments while creating a memorable experience for customers who want to keep coming back for more! Assisting with opening and closing duties, ensuring the store is secure and ready for the next day. Maintaining visual and operational standards -- ensuring displays, counters, and stock areas are always organized, clean, and on-brand. Collaborating with the team to keep the shared space organized, including cleaning, sweeping, mopping & tidying merchandise. Supporting inventory management, restocking, and online order fulfillment. Assisting with training new team members and helping them feel welcomed and supported. Responsible for executing the day-of tasks for all community activations, including set-up, tear-down, and ensuring events run seamlessly. Being comfortable on camera and contributing to social media content that showcases the Mogano brand and connects with our community.

Education & Experience



Must have 2+ years of retail sales experience, with previous experience in either jewelry or accessories preferred. Proven ability to convert sales through genuine connection and relationship building -- you understand that great sales come from great conversations. Strong emotional intelligence, active listening skills, and the ability to read customer cues. Previous leadership experience or assistant manager experience is a strong asset. Must have exceptional customer service skills and a track record of delivering exceptional client experiences. Experience with permanent jewelry is an asset but not required -- we're happy to train the right person! Must be comfortable being on camera and contributing to social media content. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. The ability to take initiative, solve problems proactively, and support the team without being asked. A passion for creating and nurturing a positive, inclusive workplace and a culture of belonging. Experience with the Microsoft and Google suite of apps is an asset. A true love for making people feel great and helping them express their unique style!
