Vermilion Energy has an exciting opportunity for a contract Lead Operator in the Edson area. You will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support to field operations staff; ensure the safe and competent operation of all wells associated with these facilities, and efficient operating practices relative to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment).

What you will do

Provide technical leadership to field operators to achieve goals efficiently and cost-effectively. Monitor field operations performance and report status to Area Foreman. Mentor staff on routine inspection, adjustment, and optimization of facilities and wells. Supervise facilities, well interventions, and crews directly. Oversee operating parameters and production volumes; ensure accurate data entry in Field Data Capture System. Remotely access and interpret equipment conditions; make decisions to improve operability. Coordinate facility and well optimization programs with Area Foreman and Engineering. Provide on-call support for the district as required. Assist in preparing operating budgets and monitoring expenses. Support start-up of wells after workovers or stimulations. Help prepare weekly production variance reports. Promote HSE leadership and Vermilion's culture. Support other work groups and review chemical/pigging programs. Assist with new well/facility start-ups and Work Order system.

What you will bring

10-15 years of relevant industry experience as a Production Operator and/or Lead Operator Proven leadership capabilities Formal operational and safety training including: First Aid / CPR, H2S Alive, Proven and demonstrated commitment to HSE expectations and requirements Software experience in field data capture (Prodview), SCADA and well optimization programs. Proven success in the ability to be flexible and adapt to change Must reside within a maximum of 120 km of the Edson area

You will work at our Edson area operations site, East of Edson This position is safety sensitive This is a contractor role with possibilities for extension Overtime required (at Area Foreman's discretion) ERP responsibilities
