The Company has a highly experienced leadership team with a track record of successfully commercializing and deploying industrial technologies and is working towards the deployment of a first-of-a-kind commercial plant.
Position
Mangrove is seeking an exceptional individual to play a key role in their multidisciplinary engineering team. The Lead Mechanical Engineer will work with the engineering and management team to own and evolve the plant mechanical design.
The individual will have a diverse and well-rounded technical and entrepreneurial skill set and a track-record of successfully executing projects in an industrial environment. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Work with EPCs and partners to develop the plant mechanical design.
  • Identify and evaluate mechanical elements of industrial plant designs with good judgement according to sound design practices.
  • Develop and foster key equipment vendor relationships.
  • Solve/review complex problems where analysis/optimization of a situation and data evaluation are required in order to meet specifications.
  • Lead the mechanical team through exploration and validation of plant design improvements.
  • Maintain processes and documentation within the engineering team.
  • Liaise with EPC and the operations/client team to support/troubleshoot projects from conception through to commissioning.

Competencies required (knowledge, skills and abilities):
  • A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Registered with EGBC.
  • Experience: 10-15 years of mechanical engineering experience, 5 years of industrial plant design experience working for/with an EPC.
  • Ideal sector experience: Oil & Gas, industrial electrolysis or chlor-alkali technology.
  • Proficient interpreting and using P&IDs, datasheets, specifications, equipment lists, common mechanical standards.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment and evaluate/incorporate new processes and/or new technologies.
  • Critical thinking skills and good judgment.
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Thrives in a changing, growing environment.
  • Demonstrates written and oral communication skills.
  • Good time management, with ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project).
