Lead Material Handler

What will you do?
Stages and organizes materials to meet production schedules in the Processing area. Ensures required materials/bulks/components in appropriate quantities are approved by Quality. Conducts physical inventory and investigation to control/verify the accuracy of information and materials. Responsibilities:

• Coordination and delivery of materials to/from processing areas.
• Supports kitting of raw materials in dispensing area.
• Monitors processing schedule to ensure that jobs are staged and delivered in a timely manner
• Completes necessary inspections and reconciles material usage for presence and correctness
• Coordinates with Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure the timely release of materials and components as required.
• Assists in the control and security of narcotics pallets during transit, finished goods and arranging delivery and pick up of narcotics to and from the vault.
• Completes batch documents including batch entries, checks, labour reporting, and downtime accuratey.
• Prints Material Request List and all relevant documentation.
• Conducts inventory control transactions using SAP.
• Removes dispensed goods from the production area (incl. wrap & label).
• Communicates with affected departments to ensure materials are available when needed.
• Provides leadership and training to Material Handlers or temporary employees (if necessary).
• Follows established safety regulations and wear the prescribed safety equipment (ongoing).
• Provides support in monitoring performance measures and notifies management of potential quality or regulatory issues that may affect product quality
• Performs alternating or rotating shift work

How will you get there?

Requirements

Education:

• A high school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of related experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or food processing plant. Previous experience with manual and electrical lift trucks is an asset.
• Experience supervising or organizing others\xe2\x80\x99 work is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Mathematical aptitude. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Thorough and organized, with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness.
• Sound knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office software applications.
• Proficiency with the English language.
