The Material Handler is responsible for operating forklift trucks in the warehouse,and is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the truck inclusive of care and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect and perform daily maintenance on assigned Forklift trucks.
• Maintain equipment as per checklist and retain appropriate forklift records.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following OHSA standards.
• Check quantity and if any damage found takes pictures and reports it
• Proficiently loads, unloads, moves, stacks and stages products using a forklift truck
• Signs the receiving receipts with date and time
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to Receiving Staging.
• Move product to storage locations upon completion of Receiving and efficiently stack and store such product in appropriate storage locations.
• Move product from storage locations to Shipping Processing as part of the ship order process.
• Subsequently, move such shipments to Shipping Staging and load them in to trucks/trailers.
• Move all products as needed, from/to storage locations, for processing as part of client Value Added Services.
• Ensure that stacking of pallets/product is done and maintained in an exemplary manner.
• Keep aisles and staging areas clear of product once processed.
• Assist in cycle count and physical inventories.
• Perform housekeeping and 5S duties.

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficient in handling Forklift trucks.
• Must have good command of the English language, with both written and verbal skills.
• Read and count accurately.
• Must be able to use proper technique to lift 30lbs.
• Multi-task oriented.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum high school diploma required.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment.
• Possess a valid certified Forklift license for Sit-down, Reach and Cherry Picker (Order Selector).
• Basic working knowledge on computers.
