WHAT IS THIS OPPORTUNITY?
As a member of a dynamic, fast paced team, this role brings strong project management and extensive scrum master knowledge and experience, effective written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic and a demonstrated capability to multi-task effectively. This role requires strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills as well as a demonstrated sense of urgency to respond to changing priorities at times. This is complemented by a positive attitude and a willingness to take accountability for results achieved.
You will be accountable for the SCRUM teams' effectiveness and leading the team on the implementation of agile practices and policies. This also includes leading, training and coaching others in the organization on the adoption of the Scrum framework and applying lean thinking principles.
You will interact with stakeholders and quickly learn the business objectives, project concepts and lead the team through to successful incremental deployment of value driven solutions Oversees and manages each SCRUM deliverable including vendor-related deliverables for quality and completion. You will work with minimum supervision and full accountability, directing work efforts and finding timely solutions to incidental issues.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Ensure strong, consistent application of the right Agile Leadership Capabilities through effective stakeholder and scope management, team leadership, and management of internal and external dependencies.
  • Participate in quarterly big room planning, setup JIRA board for quarterly program increments, and manage scrum of scrums, remove impediments, and execute sprint ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospective etc. across multiple scrum teams.
  • Demonstrate strong competence in Project Delivery Excellence by establishing and maintaining effective project governance routines, facilitating, and planning meetings and ceremonies in alignment with RBC's agile Framework, mandatory Artifacts and Methodologies, to ensure clear, concise and timely communication across project deliverables, including management of project financials and understanding of benefits and business outcomes.
  • Execute effective Schedule Management skills using scheduling and estimating tools to estimate and sequence project tasks, milestones and deliverables in alignment with desired outcomes.
  • Uphold effective Risk & Issue Management by proactively identifying, documenting, and managing risks and issues with clear mitigation plans.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
  • 5+ years in SAFe agile delivery and Project Management experience
  • Undergraduate degree with Certified Scrum Master or equivalent certification required.
  • Extensive working knowledge of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies
  • Advanced project management knowledge including plan development; scheduling methodology; project metrics gathering, analyzing, and reporting; risk assessment and quantification methodologies; cost/benefit analysis and alternatives identification; budgeting, financials and benefits management.
  • General management skills including negotiating, communicating and team building.
  • Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence
Nice to have:
  • Advanced Certified Scrum Master and Certified SaFe Practitioner or equivalent.
  • Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large, publicly traded corporation
  • Experience in a variety of environments (Cloud, distributed and mainframe, business workflows and services/APIs, databases)
  • Ability to impact and influence at the Senior Leadership level
  • Knowledge about Insurance domain
  • Proven ability to manage projects with third-party vendors and significant technology components.
