Job Description



Sansom Equipment Limited is the leading distributor and service provider for pumps, generators, blowers, valves, VFDs, magnetic flowmeters, instrumentation, chemical injections pumps and package engineered systems for industrial and municipal applications across Eastern Canada. As Lead Industrial Sales you are responsible for:

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets for industrial engines.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with an existing dealer network and other existing clients while also identifying and engaging with potential customers / dealers in the industrial, marine and commercial sectors.
  • Product Knowledge: Possess in-depth knowledge of industrial / marine engines, their features, applications, and benefits to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Quoting and Proposal Preparation: Prepare accurate and competitive quotes and proposals based on customer requirements and specifications.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and customer needs to ensure the company\'s products meet market demands.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance to customers, addressing their queries and concerns related to industrial engines.
  • Negotiation and Closing Deals: Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with customers to secure sales. Close deals and finalize contracts.
  • Sales Presentations: Create and deliver presentations to potential clients showcasing the value and benefits of industrial engines offered.
  • Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate sales records, reports, and forecasts to track progress towards sales goals.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the technical support team, engineers, and other departments to ensure a seamless sales process.
  • Travel: Attend industry events, trade shows, and visit clients as necessary to promote products and services.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor\'s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in industrial / marine engine sales or a similar role, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of industrial / marine engines, their specifications, and applications is a significant advantage.
  • Sales Skills: Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills are essential.
  • Customer-Focused: Ability to understand and address customer needs, building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Self-Motivated: Self-driven and able to work independently to meet sales objectives.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the marine, industrial and manufacturing sectors, as well as knowledge of competitors and market trends.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to solve technical and sales-related problems effectively.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in using sales and CRM software.
