Teck is looking for two highly motivated, collaborative, and passionate Health & Safety (H&S) professionals to support our fast-paced and complex Exploration field operations based at Teck\xe2\x80\x99s Red Dog Operations in the De Long Mountains of northwest Alaska. The roles will work closely with corporate H&S professionals, project management leaders, geoscience subject matter experts, and a diverse mix of high-performing contractors.
Reporting to the Senior Project Geologist, Exploration - Canada/USA, the Lead, Health & Safety, Exploration - Red Dog is responsible for leading the design, implementation, management and verification of H&S programs for Red Dog Exploration activities to promote a safety-focused culture through risk assessment and mitigation and ensure operational compliance to occupational health and safety standards. The Lead, Health & Safety ensures that Red Dog Exploration staff and contractors have the necessary training, understanding, tools and support to safely execute project fieldwork, in alignment with best practices and existing processes, and fulfill their designated H&S responsibilities.
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven, highly organized H&S practitioner with extensive field and operational experience in the resource industry. This professional will have a compelling track record of overseeing safe operations in a number of operating settings, with a proven ability to collaborate and problem-solve with diverse professionals of all backgrounds.
This role is located at our site in Alaska (Red Dog), therefor we are open to US citizens/PR who have the legal ability to work in the US. As well, those with the legal capacity to obtain a US work visa who are non-US citizens/PR (Canadian Citizens/PR). We will provide support to non-US citizens/PR to obtain a US work visa.
Travel will be required to the site and this will be covered by Teck.
