Position Summary

Under the direction of the Branch Manager and Operations Supervisors, the Warehouse Lead Hand is responsible for the oversight of the warehouse operators on assigned shifts to ensure performance indicators are achieved. Responsible for work assignments and Warehouse Management System processing on assignment shifts.

Location: 55 Rothwell road, Winnipeg, MB

Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm

What you\'ll do

Goals, Objectives, and Deliverables:

  • Processing all receipts and orders within contract service level agreements for timing, quality, and accuracy. Assigning staff to work areas as appropriate to achieve this.
  • Daily status update reports are sent to ensure all departments and management have visibility.
  • Work area is kept clean and organized at all times.
Summary of responsibilities:
  • Ensure all team members are properly trained. (Safety policy, standards, customer-specific picking and packing processes, and other topics as required.)
  • Utilize the WMS system to print paperwork for inbound/outbound loads.
  • Primary contact with all drivers arriving on site.
  • Troubleshoot allocation or other WMS/system issues with support from Supervisor or other Team leads.
  • Audit performance of team members and review with management. Including regular spot checks throughout each shift of all workstations.
  • Work with other lead hands and customer service to understand schedule and volumes and work with management to maintain and understand the plan for each shift.
  • Ensure any \xe2\x80\x9cOS&D\xe2\x80\x9d forms are completed and given to customer service for any issues encountered during receipt.
  • Attend various team meetings and provide feedback.
  • Ensure appropriate shift reports are completed and sent. This includes any cleaning logs, volume reporting, or other paperwork assigned.
What you\'ll bring
  • Reliable self-starter capable of working alone
  • Need to be MHE certified and ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Must be able to lead staff to meet customer demands and company objectives
  • Must be capable of applying effective communication skills orally and in writing.
  • Must have proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in and a solid understanding of warehousing and distribution.
  • Must possess knowledge of all applicable health and safety legislation.
  • Must be capable of coordinating the training of subordinates to ensure the adequate development of work skills.
  • Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • WMS knowledge is preferred
  • Experience in a warehouse RF environment is a must
