Omex Manufacturing ULC located in Stratford, Ontario produces automotive parts for several major manufacturers, and our product portfolio includes a wide array of stamped, welded, and assembled components.

Production Leadhand - Afternoon Shift_*
We are currently recruiting for an Afternoon Shift Leadhand with a minimum of two (2) years of practical experience to join our rapidly expanding business. The successful candidate will report to the Production Supervisor while assisting them with production activities. They will be tasked with training of production colleagues in production methods and safety, as well as maintaining team morale and creating a positive and safe work environment.*_
General Responsibilities: _*

• Assist and train new employees in job duties and safety procedures
• Confer with production supervisor to resolve production team member problems, complaints and performance issues
• Oversee shift in the absence of the Production Supervisor
• Assist with setups, as needed
• Troubleshooting, problem-solving of equipment
• Maintain a safe, clean and tidy work area
• Perform cycle counts
• Move inventory to appropriate locations within the shop floor
• Assist with production, when necessary
• Assist Supervisor, as required

Qualifications: _*

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a team lead or supervisory role within a automotive production setting.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Forklift experience

Skills and Competencies: _*

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter with the ability to prioritize many different tasks and meet deadlines in a lean manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of associates.
• Knowledge of TS16949 & ISO 14001 automotive quality standards.
• Press operation, an asset but not required.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, an asset.
• Able to be on-call for Continental coverage (this is on a rotation, once per month).
