We are proud of our past, excited about our future and are looking for a hands-on, organized, and energetic Packaging Lead Hand to join our growing team!This position is a full-time days' position working 7am to 4pm at our 725 McMurray Rd. Waterloo production facility. Working Saturdays is an expectation of the role. As we build our team, we are working towards rotating Saturdays off and eventually working only one Saturday per month. We are not there just yet.Reporting to the Assistant Packaging Manager, and working closely with the packaging team you will:

• Effectively lead and direct the packaging team
• Ensure products are accurately and properly packaged, coded, and labeled
• Ensure all orders are properly prepared for shipping and/or storage
• Communicate production issues to the appropriate manager in a timely manner
• Trouble shoot packaging issues
• Organize and maintain cleanliness of coolers and other equipment
• Process, verify and palletize orders according to instructions
• Ensure superior hygiene and sanitation standards are always met
• Ensure company and packaging processes, policies, and standards, including health and safety are being followed by team members at all times
• Ensure team members are following all safety protocols and operating equipment safely
• Roll up your sleeves and help out on the line as required
• Other duties as assigned

What you will need to be successful in this role:

• Previous packaging supervisory experience required
• Experience with meat preparation and packaging equipment an asset
• Commitment to exceptional customer service

• Ability to work effectively with minimal direction
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate, coach and mentor team members
• Good computer skills, including working with MS Office (Word, Excel) and comfortable using ERP systems & related reports
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene processes
• Able to lift up to 40lbs
