The incumbent will be responsible for acting in a leadership capacity during times of supervisor shortage. The incumbent will be responsible for the assumption of some supervisory tasks as well as Health & Safety within the facility as needed during periods of supervisor vacation/absence.
Responsibilities:
Provide timely and effective communication/feedback to the Business Unit Managers, Production Manager and/or Shift Supervisor when needed.
Communicate employees' concerns to the management team; support/assist in resolving issues when required.
Plant shut down and/or start up support
Train to understand facility security as it pertains to the role.
Train to understand the production scheduling system so work can be redirected in times of need.
Promote, implement and adhere to all safety, environment, ergonomic and good housekeeping standards and practices and incorporate into daily work activities.
Assist with on-the-job (OTJ) training by getting support &/or redirect employees to alternate work if needed.
Support, participate in, and advocate for GROWTTH philosophies; 5S, DOJO, Kaizen.
Qualifications:
Highschool Diploma
3 - 5 years of manufacturing experience; experience in a leadership capacity would be considered an asset
Assertive self-starter with attention to detail, requiring minimal supervision
Above average interpersonal skills
Effective verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
Ability to teach, coach and mentor employees with varying learning styles when needed
Strong problem solving skills with an ability to be decisive where warranted
Reliability is a must
