Position Overview: Warehouse Lead Hand - Afternoon Shift



$23.00 + $2.00 Shift Premium per hour

WAREHOUSE LEAD HAND POSITION DESCRIPTION



The duties and responsibilities of the

Warehouse Lead Hand

will be as follows. This position reports directly to the

Warehouse Manager.



1. Oversee and participate in the daily activities of the entire Warehousing Department and all related processes, including order picking and staging, loading trailers with finished product and completing customer shipping paperwork, picking and organizing raw materials for production, receiving, etc.

2. Monitor the performance of warehouse staff, ensuring productivity targets are met and addressing any performance issues.

3. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members daily, as necessary.

4. Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and cooperation among warehouse staff.

5. Ensure all warehouses are organized, clean, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.

6. Assist in creating new processes and procedures, as well as maintaining existing ones, to ensure the Warehouse department operates efficiently and effectively.

7. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any product damage, spoilage, or discrepancies.

8. Maintain the fixed assets in the department in optimal operating condition with the objective of keeping the warehouse and all related equipment functional and reliable.

9. Trouble-shooting equipment problems and performing temporary repairs, if required, to keep the Warehousing Department operational. If repairs are major, contact the Maintenance Manager for assistance.

10. Scheduling and coordination of outside contractors in a timely and efficient manner to maintain all required security and food safety procedures.

11. Follow Standard Operating Procedures and assist with operator training when new equipment or changes to current equipment or processes are implemented.

12. Monitor facilities and equipment, communicate regularly with operators, and notify the Warehouse Manager immediately of any developing potential problems.

13. Ensure that the inventory of required spare parts and approved supplies for warehousing equipment is organized, adequate and current through placing and tracking purchase orders with approved suppliers.

14. Keep office space, computer files, equipment manuals, parts, and tools organized and in good condition.

15. Be familiar with and have regard for SQF, HACCP, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Food Safety, Food Security, Organic Certification, Standard Operating Procedures and all other applicable regulatory and company programs and policies. Ensure all workers are aware and comply.

16. Work with operators to ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations by identifying risks and ensuring that corrective actions are implemented.

17. Identify possible improvement initiatives to reduce operational costs or improve efficiency.

18. Perform general warehouse tasks and procedures, including unloading & loading of product, completing paperwork, picking orders, etc.

19. Assist with monthly and quarterly inventory counts and reconciliation of raw materials and finished goods.

20. Other duties may be assigned by the Warehouse Manager or Senior Management from time to time.
