Job Overview:


The Lead Event Chef is responsible for managing on-site events and will play a pivotal role executing high-quality, meals for a variety of events, from corporate gatherings to weddings and private parties. You will lead the kitchen team, ensuring the seamless execution of all culinary aspects of the event, maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Your expertise in culinary techniques, creativity, and attention to detail will ensure that every event delivers an exceptional dining experience for our clients.

casual / on call

, hands on position and will require the candidate to work on site for events at our partner venues.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of chefs (from 2 - 10+) in and executing event menus, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to the event schedule. Coordinate with the in-house chef team to ensure they have all special information, dietary restrictions, or specific instructions needed to execute the event successfully. Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food for large-scale events, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during event preparations or service, ensuring client satisfaction. Manage kitchen operations during events and coordinating with service staff, and ensuring the smooth flow of food service Break down events after service, including organizing and packing kitchen equipment, cleaning the venue, and ensuring all items are accounted for and read for future use.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a chef, with at least 3 years of experience in high-end event or catering kitchens Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Food Safe level 1 Legal to work in Canada (minimum 2 years on work permit) Vehicle or transportation is preferred but not required
