iGaming Ontario is seeking an experienced Lead, Enterprise Data & Business Intelligence (BI), who will be responsible for enabling iGO internal and external stakeholders with scalable data and automated interactive reports, dashboards and visualizations, that inform financial management, regulatory reporting, AML activities, development of policies and responsible gambling tools, and market & player insights. This role will mentor talent, supervise outputs, ensure seamless operations, act as a liaison for the deployment of new data & analytics into production, and be the steward of the best industry practices of data management and BI.



Reporting to the Manager, Analytics & BI you will:



Support the design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing governance and enrichment of the Enterprise Datamart used for reporting, business intelligence, value-added analytics and data science: Collect data needs across all departments within the organization and translate them into effective, scalable, user-friendly, automated data, reporting & BI solutions. Enrich & optimize the Enterprise Datamart via design and development of new data elements and objects (e.g. tables, views and BI aggregations) into the "Single Source of Truth" analytical database based on the best practices of database management and data normalization. Design & implement automated data validation & integrity checks and alerts. Review, validate, optimize, and deploy to production new code developed by other members of the analytics team. Liaise with the IT team on database configuration, management, user-group management, security and governance initiatives. Drive the design, development, implementation and ongoing governance of reports and interactive dashboards & visualizations informing player, operator and market' insights, and financial, AML, responsible gambling, and policy development decisions: Understand recurring reporting and analytical needs across all departments within the organization and translate them into effective, scalable, user-friendly, automated reporting & BI solutions. Design reporting templates and Power BI dashboard wireframes - tables and visualizations - that support comprehensive data exploration and interactivity functionalities via filtering, drilldowns, categorizations in an intuitive and user-friendly manner. Design reporting & BI data structures and upload / refresh processes, that enable reporting on large volumes of data in time- and cost-efficient manner. Design & implement automated reports & dashboards' validation & integrity checks and alerts. Define and manage user groups for access to reports & BI tools. Liaise with the analytics and non-analytical stakeholders to drive optimization & improvement of data, reporting, BI and workflow automation initiatives. Spearhead automations & optimizations to operational processes and workflows through solution design, development and deployment of code, and design of user interfaces in BI or similar tools. Oversee the execution of the operational tasks performed by Analysts / Sr. Analysts Contribute to the development of data, BI and coding skills of the team through coaching and mentorship. Support organizational improvement initiatives and implementation of data-centric culture. Actively contribute to the ongoing development of the data analytics program for the Ontario online casino and betting market and act as a subject matter expert in an interdisciplinary insights team. Contribute to the continuous improvement in departmental processes, workflows and culture.

The ideal candidate will have:



Familiarity with the gaming industry including knowledge of casino gambling and sports wagering is an asset. University Degree in Data Engineering, Analytics, Business, Economics, Statistics or any other relevant field. 5+ experience in data architecture and data modeling. 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and building interactive dashboards & visualizations in Power BI or other BI tools. 5+ experience in designing and building BI data solutions (i.e. data models and aggregations) based on large volumes of data. Advanced SQL and Python coding skills and ability to create production-ready, scalable, reusable, configurable code. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products. Ability to program VBA is a strong asset. Experience with Microsoft Azure and Snowflake platforms is an asset. Proficiency with statistical scripting languages such as R an asset. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and issues management. Excellent project management and project oversight skills. Excellent ability to conceptualize, evaluate, and problem-solve. Ability to apply strategic and sound judgement and sensitivity to issues and ability to work with a diverse client group and staff at all levels of the agency. Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide team members towards achieving common goals. Ability to make timely and informed decisions that benefit the team and organization. Ability to build strong relationships with team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Ability to provide guidance, support, and feedback to help team members grow professionally.

This position currently offers a hybrid work location. iGaming Ontario has implemented a minimum three-day per week in-office schedule. iGaming Ontario reserves the right to change this policy and its office location at any time.



This position falls within the scope of a bargaining unit represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU). In the upcoming months, iGaming Ontario and OPSEU will be negotiating the terms of a collective agreement which, once concluded, will govern the terms and conditions of this position.
