Lead Dance Instructor

Job Description

We're seeking a dynamic and organized Lead Dance Instructor to develop and deliver dance and movement programming for the Club. The ideal candidate is passionate about fostering a safe and inspiring environment where young dancers can grow in skill and confidence.

Part time up to 10 hours per week September through May.

Competitive salary and commensurate with experience.

Planning Responsibilities



Collaborate with the Junior Recreation Supervisor to develop annual and seasonal program schedules and coordinate instructor assignments.

Create and maintain lesson plans and class progressions for each discipline and level.

Identify key messages to share with parents and members regarding program updates, recital details, and performance expectations.

Recommend instructor certification requirements (e.g., First Aid, CPR, Safe Sport, NCCP, Acro etc.) as applicable.

Assist the Program Coordinator in hiring, onboarding, and training new dance instructors.

Provide on-going feedback and coaching to other instructors.

Maintain and organize supplies including costumes, props, and equipment; manage ordering and storage.

Contribute to social media and newsletter content.

Collaborate with team to coordinate recitals, showcases at events and special workshops.

Instructional Responsibilities



Provide high-quality instruction across multiple dance disciplines.

Ensure safety protocols and injury prevention measures are followed in all classes.

Promote inclusivity, creativity, and member engagement through innovative programming.

Encourage performance opportunities within the Club and externally where appropriate.

Coordinate recital choreography, rehearsals, and costume design for Club showcases.

Mentor advanced students interested in leadership or assistant coaching roles.

About our Music, Movement & Dance Programming



Our goal is to provide members and families an alternative to sport programming by offering high quality, fun, movement, music and dance programs.

Current Programming

Dance- programs for ages 3-teen and adult, and for beginners to more advanced levels (hip-hop, ballet, lyrical/ contemporary, tap)

Musical Theatre

Piano lessons

The Club would like to re-introduce Acro programs. Music, movement and dance classes are currently offered Friday evening, Saturday mornings, and one weekday evening.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 10 per week
