The Role

As a key member of the projects and construction team, you will be responsible for managing the construction phase of various projects at sites and will lead the development and execution of a Cameco construction management process.

The Lead Construction Coordinator is a supporting role to assist in ensuring the effective planning and execution of delivery projects. Reporting to the Manager, CMO, the role will ensure that new projects are appropriately planned by ensuring timelines are appropriate for the scope/scale of projects. The role will also support in organization of site projects and capital replacement program by ensuring planning, coordination of the programs is completed and integrated into the technical services systems. The Lead Coordinator will also monitor, address, and support all delivery projects for adherences to schedule targets to support achieving Cameco\'s objectives.

In this role, you will:

  • Monitor upcoming and underway delivery projects to ensure proper planning and planned tasks are occurring in a timely fashion
  • Preparation and facilitation of a monthly summary/overview report and planning session for the functional TS managers
  • Coordination and alignment of site project needs into TS systems to allow for appropriate planning by functional managers. Support for the site projects to allow TS system to have visibility and monitoring on ongoing and upcoming work
  • Be responsible to support resolution of planning/schedule issues of delivery projects to help get them back on track, including occasional auditing of ongoing work (both internal and external)
  • Support planning new, unplanned, or break in work to provide visibility to TS delivery functional managers for resource/execution planning
Required:
  • Diploma in engineering technology or valid inter-provincial certificate of qualification as a journeyperson in a skilled trade
  • Experience in project execution planning and field execution management. The ideal person has extensive experience planning, monitoring, progressing, and executing industrial construction or maintenance projects
  • Eight + Years of experience in managing control of construction projects and contractors
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
  • Work a hybrid schedule of in office with visits to site by aircraft periodically
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strong analytics skills, strong organizational skills, ability to monitor and switch through multiple tasks nearly simultaneously, concise and efficient communication.
  • Knowledge in SAP, Primavera P6, Microsoft Projects
Recommended:
  • PMP or Gold Seal designation
