Position: Lead CNC Machinist

Shift: Morning / Afternoon Shift

Location: Calgary, AB

Our client is a leading manufacturing company dedicated to delivering high-quality precision components to our clients. We seek a skilled and experienced Lead CNC Machinist to join our team, bringing expertise in turning and turn-mill operations using Fanuc Control.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead and supervise a team of CNC Machinists during the afternoon shift.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
• Ensure the team\'s adherence to safety regulations and company policies.

CNC Machining Operations:

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines, specializing in turning and turn-mill operations with Fanuc Control.
• Oversee the production of high-quality components according to customer specifications and drawings.
• Conduct complex machining operations to meet or exceed production schedules.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

• Identify and resolve issues related to CNC machining processes to maintain quality and meet production targets.
• Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and implement corrective actions.

Quality Assurance:

• Measure and inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
• Implement and maintain quality control processes within the team.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Ensure CNC machines and tools are well-maintained, performing routine maintenance activities as required.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for more extensive repairs and improvements.

Safety and Compliance:

• Uphold strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for the team.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Trade Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in CNC machining.

Technical Skills:

• Proven experience in programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines, focusing on turning and turn-mill operations using Fanuc Control.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, height, and bore gauges.
• Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and cutting parameters.
