CNC Machinist

, that will be directly reporting to the CNC Team Lead, this position is based in Edmonton, AB.

Shifts:

Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm.

On-call rotation required.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

Program and operate Haas CNC milling machines using Mastercam (Primary role). Program and operate CNC turning centers and laser table (Secondary, support function). Perform routine maintenance on production equipment. Calibrate and adjust machinery and tooling, as required. Read and interpret drawings, models, and other technical information. Promote safe work practices and adhere to all established safety policies and procedures. Ensure that parts are produced according to specifications. Program parts, select tooling, select fixturing, and perform setups. Troubleshoot and operate production machinery. Compare CAD models to internally generated drawings. Identify and communicate discrepancies. Produce and measure parts with tight tolerances (+/- .0005" to +/- .002") Follow routing sheets to fulfill work order requirements. Fill out all required documentation and input necessary information into computer systems. Report and document machine, program, or process deficiencies. Participate in regular housekeeping activities, including weekly clean up. Perform part finishing operations including deburring, shot peening, or glass beading, as required. Assist with quality assurance and management of client expectations. Perform in-process inspections for yourself and others. Assist with the investigation and resolution of assigned NCRs, as required. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Promote and participate in continuous improvement activities. Conduct tooling and process evaluations. Document results. Make recommendations. Provide first-offs within the department, as required. 3-5 years CNC machining experience. 1+ years of Mastercam experience. Programming experience in Mastercam Mill required. Journeyman Machinist certification preferred.
