We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Carpenter to oversee construction and renovation projects, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency on-site. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of various construction disciplines, including blueprint reading, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and all aspects related to residential construction. This role requires a proactive approach to managing teams and completeing complex tasks within diverse project scopes.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Maintain a safe job site, ensuring & enforcing requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Supervision, inspection, and direction of work performed by installation crews while working with them
Set and adhere to strict targets to meet installation schedule
Instill a commitment to quality and efficiency in work performed by team members
Control & monitor labour, material, and equipment
Provide regular progress updates to the operations team
Identify cost saving areas and process improvements on site
Review and approve timesheets for site crews
Assist in managing shop and service vehicle inventory
Uphold Bricon's standards of quality and professionalism
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 7 years of relevant Site Supervisor or Lead Carpentry experience
Education related to renovation construction or equivalent work experience
Thorough knowledge of the OHSA and Ontario Building Code
Ability to multitask, supervising multiple projects at once
Ability to foresee potential issues and resolve them in advance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Current G class driver's license and clean drivers abstract
ADDITIONAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS THAT WOULD BE AN ASSET:
Ability to read and interpret various drawings (architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural)
Certificate of Qualification (Lisc. 403A General carpenter) and extensive experience working in residential construction
First aid/CPR, and working at heights certification preferred
