About the Campground
We are a quiet, family-oriented campground on beautiful Hornby Island, BC. We are seeking a mature, dependable couple (or an experienced individual) to join our team as Lead Campground Hosts.
This role is well-suited for:
Snowbirds
Retired or semi-retired couples
Trades-minded individuals
Caretakers or property managers
People who enjoy working outdoors and living in a peaceful island environment

Position Overview
The Lead Campground Host works under the Campground General Managers and supports the daily operation of the campground.
This role includes team leadership, such as:
Helping guide and support other campground hosts
Providing basic training for new hosts (procedures, cleaning routines, guest services)
Setting a professional example in communication, safety, and work habits
Core responsibilities include:
Welcoming guests and assisting with check-ins
Office and guest communication
Cleaning washrooms and public areas
Groundskeeping: mowing, raking, trimming, watering
Light maintenance and small repairs
Garbage & recycling rounds
Monitoring quiet hours and campground safety
Hiring and training summer hosts
Training for reservation systems is provided.
Off-Season Availability (Flexible)
This position continues into the off-season, but flexibility is built in. Lead Hosts may leave the island during parts of the winter (e.g., snowbird travel). When present, they assist with:
Security checks
Light maintenance
Storm preparation or cleanup
Occasional repair tasks
Any off-season work is paid hourly at an agreed rate.
This arrangement is ideal for couples who travel but still want seasonal involvement and steady work.
Accommodation Provided
Accommodation is offered solely to support job performance:
Your own RV (preferred), or
Use of the on-site staff RV
Accommodation does not create tenancy rights.

We are looking for a couple or individual who is:
Mature, dependable, and self-directed
Friendly, patient, and comfortable with the public
Physically capable of outdoor work
Experienced in hospitality, trades, caretaking, or property management
Organized and able to follow direction
Comfortable using basic tools and equipment
Additional assets include: lawn care equipment, small engine experience, basic repairs, and
computer literacy.
