Job Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded in a timely manner. This role is essential for supporting the financial health of our organization and will involve working closely with other departments to provide financial insights.

Duties



Issue approximately 100 invoices per month accurately and ensure timely follow-ups for collections. Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero. Manage all bookkeeping functions independently, including general ledger entries and journal postings. Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial data accuracy. Track and categorize all business expenses with supporting documentation. Process payroll accurately and promptly, ensuring compliance with CRA regulations. Prepare and present monthly financial reports, including income statements and cash flow summaries. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support financial planning. Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and financial explanations. Monitor accounts payable and receivable, and ensure proper tracking of vendor payments. Collaborate with other departments when needed to gather financial data for reporting or planning. Ensure accurate recording of tax-related information (GST/HST) and assist with filing as needed. Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial information and systems. Take full ownership of the bookkeeping and financial reporting process without supervision.

Skills



Self-motivated and accountable with the courage to work independently. Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks and Sage, is highly desirable. Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and bank reconciliation processes. Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and record keeping. Ability to analyze financial data and generate reports that provide valuable insights. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members across departments. Previous experience as an account clerk or in a similar bookkeeping role is preferred but not required.
