Reporting to the Director of Legal Services and Clerk, the student will provide legal assistance to the departments.
Schedule: part-time
Responsibilities
Attend depositions and a variety of court proceedings
Follow up on collections from insurance companies
Assist in drafting procedures and collecting evidence for litigation, claims and collections
Attend and prepare for monthly board meetings
Draft analyses of the quality of evidence received, and follow up to gather additional evidence where necessary
Conduct legal research and analysis
Assist in policy drafting and by-law implementation
Performs any other related duties
Qualifications required:
Full-time law or paralegal student
Excellent sense of time management and priorities
Ability to show initiative and autonomy
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of office software
Good knowledge of spoken and written French and English
