Elkin Injury Law is in search of a full-time Litigation Law Clerk/Legal Assistant, preferably a graduate from a Law Clerk/Legal Assistant program, with Personal Injury litigation experience.
Applicants must be enthusiastic and motivated to work hard to meet important deadlines. Applicants must possess the ability to multi-task in a prioritized fashion, with strong attention to detail.
Strong typing skills and familiarity with several computer programs, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office are essential, in addition to clear verbal and written communication, organizational and inter-personal skills.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Job Requirements
Preparation and drafting of correspondence and legal documents (including motion records, Statement of Claim, pre-trial/mediation memos, pleadings, affidavits of documents, LAT applications, etc.) for filing and service
Managing undertakings and refusals
General file handling and management (on tort files and Accident Benefits files)
Production of files and documents, including preparation of Affidavit of Documents, summaries of productions and discovery briefs
Managing calendars
Maintaining daily contact with clients in a professional manner
Other general duties as required
Qualifications
Completion of accredited legal assistant and or law clerk program an asset
1+ years' experience in dealing with Tort and accident benefits matters (plaintiff personal injury or insurance defense experience)
Demonstrated experience providing administrative support in an environment with a broad variety of administrative and clerical functions
Advanced familiarity with the Rules of Civil Procedure and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule
Demonstrated ability to research/investigate issues and sound decision making skills to resolve problems and or escalate as appropriate
Demonstrated advanced writing skills to prepare legal correspondence and complete forms
Ability to exercise good judgment when dealing with clients
