will assist lawyers with case preparation, drafting documents, and managing client files. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a solid background in family law.
Key Responsibilities
Draft and prepare family law documents, including applications, motions, affidavits, and financial statements (Form 13/13.1)
Manage client files from intake to closing, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Conduct legal research and gather supporting documentation for cases
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff in a professional manner
Schedule court dates, mediations, and client meetings
Assist with trial preparation and maintain case calendars
Ensure all deadlines are met and filings are completed correctly
Qualifications
Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent education/experience
Minimum 3+ years of experience
as a Family Law Clerk (Ontario family law)
Strong knowledge of the Family Law Rules, Divorce Act, and Family Law Act
Proficiency with DivorceMate, Cosmolex, and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
