We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. Duties



Assist attorneys with preparing legal documents, including petitions, affidavits, and settlement agreements specific to family law cases such as divorce, child custody, and support matters Manage case files using legal case management systems and document management platforms like Divorcemate, LEAP and Legal Aid Platforms Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools to support case strategies Interview clients, witnesses, and other stakeholders to gather pertinent information for case development Draft correspondence, pleadings, and court documents with precision and clarity Organize and maintain court filings, records, and evidence in compliance with jurisdictional requirements Coordinate with courts, agencies, and external parties to facilitate hearings, mediations, and client meetings Proofread documents for accuracy, ensure timely filing of legal paperwork, and perform transcription as needed Provide administrative support including data entry, scheduling appointments, managing phone etiquette, and organizing files for efficient workflow

Requirements



Paralegal experience or equivalent legal administrative experience in a law office setting Strong knowledge of family law procedures and related legal areas such as estate planning or tribal law is a plus Proficiency with legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Effective interviewing skills to gather detailed client information accurately Exceptional writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence Attention to detail for proofreading documents and ensuring accuracy in filings Strong clerical skills including data entry, filing, transcription, and maintaining organized records Professional phone etiquette combined with excellent organizational abilities to support attorneys effectively
