Join our dedicated safety team on the beautiful Sunshine Coast! We are looking for a certified and experienced

Lane Control Technician (LCT)

to manage and lead traffic control operations for various construction, utility, and special event projects. Your commitment to safety and efficiency will be key to protecting our crews and the public.

As a Lane Control Technician (LCT), your primary responsibility is to ensure the safe and compliant flow of traffic around work zones. This includes leading ground personnel and managing all traffic control logistics.

What you will be responsible for:

Traffic Management Leadership:

Lead and direct a team of

Traffic Control Persons (TCPs)

.

Work Zone Setup & Maintenance:

Safely and efficiently

set up, maintain, and remove lane closures

and traffic control zones using signs, cones, and arrow boards.

Compliance:

Ensure all work zone operations strictly follow

WorkSafeBC regulations

(Part 18), the

MoTI Traffic Management Manual

, and site-specific plans.

Planning & Modification:

Develop

informal traffic control plans

and modify complex

Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)

as required by site conditions.

Hazard Mitigation:

Conduct site assessments and

Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs)

to identify and mitigate safety hazards for crews and the public.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate daily logs, complete safety paperwork, and prepare required forms (e.g., H1080 forms).

Communication:

Maintain clear radio and verbal communication with work crews, supervisors, and the general public.

Emergency Response:

Be prepared to manage and control traffic during unexpected site changes or emergency situations.

Where/When you will be working:

Sunshine Coast - Langdale to Lund Monday to Friday Rotating on call weekends (as needed)- weekend on, weekend off Working outdoors in all elements and weather When LCT work is not in demand you will join one of our landscape teams to ensure a full 40 hrs per week
Compensation: $25.75-$30.90 per hour based on experience
