We are seeking an experienced and motivated Landscape Technician to join our team and contribute to the enhancement of outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of horticulture, plant care, and landscape maintenance practices. This position involves a combination of hands-on work, technical expertise, and a passion for creating visually appealing and sustainable landscapes.
Responsibilities:
Plant Installation and Maintenance:
Install, and maintain a variety of plants, trees, and shrubs.
Apply organic soil and mulch to gardens
Implement fertilization, and pest control measures.
Monitor plant health and address issues promptly.
Lawn Care:
Perform lawn maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, and fertilizing.
Identify and address lawn diseases or pests.
Hardscape Installation:
Assist in the installation of hardscape features such as pathways, retaining walls, fences and outdoor structures.
Ensure proper placement and alignment of hardscape elements.
Ensure proper property is cleaned-up at the end of every day.
Equipment Operation:
Class 5 licence and experience or willingness to learn to drive a truck and trailer
Operate and maintain landscape equipment, including mowers, trimmers, plate compactors, others.
Conduct routine checks on tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during all landscaping activities.
Ensure the safe use of equipment and personal protection.
Client Interaction:
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their landscaping preferences and address any concerns.
Qualifications:
Class 5 License
1-2 years experience as a Landscape Technician or similar role is an asset
Knowledge of plant species, horticulture practices, and landscape design principles.
Proficient in operating landscape equipment and tools.
Strong physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education and Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent (relevant certifications or coursework in horticulture is a plus).
