Foreperson - Landscape Construction/ Hardscape Division


Are you a skilled and experienced hardscape professional with a passion for building beautiful, lasting outdoor spaces? Do you take pride in precision, craftsmanship, and leading a team to excellence? Lyman's Landscaping is growing, and we're looking for a foreperson dedicated to join our team of landscape professionals! We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified individual to lead our Hardscape Division full-time, with winter maintenance responsibilities during the off-season.

Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise a team of hardscape installers to ensure the successful completion of interlock, grading, carpentry, and fence projects.

Motivate and guide your crew to deliver high-quality work, on time and on budget, while maintaining a safe and productive job site.

Read and interpret landscape design drawings, ensuring proper layout, excavation, base preparation, and installation of interlocking stone, retaining walls, steps, and other hardscape features.

Set accurate grades and elevations using appropriate tools and techniques.

Ensure all work meets or exceeds Landscape Ontario construction standards. Oversee the construction of fences and decks, ensuring workmanship meets company and industry expectations.

Implement proper site grading and drainage solutions with precision and foresight.

Conduct ongoing quality checks and resolve issues efficiently.

Communicate clearly with project managers, clients, and suppliers to coordinate materials, schedules, and expectations.

Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in safe working condition.

Lead a winter maintenance crew to ensure properties are safe, clear, and meet company standards throughout the season.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of hands-on hardscape experience with demonstrated skill in interlock installation -- non-negotiable.

Minimum 3 years of leadership experience leading crews in the landscape or construction industry.

Proven ability to read and execute landscape design plans accurately.

Proficient in grading, leveling, and setting elevations with laser or transit.

Strong understanding of Landscape Standards for construction (as outlined by Landscape Ontario or equivalent).

Portfolio of completed work produced for review.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in outdoor conditions.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.

Availability for full-time work, including full participation in winter operations.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
