The Opportunity:
The Land based Cultural Worker (LBCW) provides culturally based programming to the clients of the Substance Use Program. The LBCW works closely with the elders in residence, support workers, counsellors, therapists, and social workers to support the delivery of cultural and spiritual healing to individuals accessing services within the Substance Use Program.
Plan and facilitate land-based workshops, ceremonies, and seasonal activities, including medicine and traditional food harvesting, fishing, hunting, storytelling, and drumming.
Teach and model traditional food preparation techniques such as canning, smoking, drying meat and fish, setting nets, and preparing animals after hunting.
Collaborate with Elders in Residence, support workers, social workers, and counselors to provide support for both in-patient and outreach clients.
Provide one-on-one and group-based cultural support, including ceremonies, teachings, and healing circles.

What You Will Bring to The Role:
High School diploma or equivalent or a minimum 2-4 years of experience in cultural facilitation, community wellness, or related fields
A Diploma or certificate in Indigenous Studies from a recognized post-secondary is considered an asset
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in cultural facilitation, community wellness, or related fields
Experience working in First Nations organizations

Wage Range:
The target hiring range for this position is $31.8906 to $41.2991 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants' role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity.
