Job Description

Sherlock Clothing Ltd. operates two store banners, Pseudio and Envy + Grace. This position is based out of our Head Office in Halifax, NS. As a Buyer you play a key role in product mix, creating an inspiring blend of apparel and accessories to optimize the consumer experience.

Participate in day-to-day operations of the assigned portfolio resulting in effective execution of business deliverables Analyze reports, sales trends, consumer buying patterns to provide short and long-term recommendations that will drive business Plan and manage stock levels and inventory allocation Monitor and improve margins and sell-throughs through analysis and action Collaborate on creative projects Liaise with Marketing and Ecommerce teams to ensure product is accurately represented across all channels Negotiate contract terms with suppliers in order to onboard new brands and secure preferential trade terms Select products to align with banner strategy and brand message Build strong long-term relationships with suppliers to achieve optimal delivery times, product offerings, terms and more Actively monitor industry trends

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field Highly analytical with a strong understanding of retail math and practices Proficient in Microsoft Excel Ability to thrive in a team atmosphere Comfortable with a fast paced and dynamic environment Strong communication skills Able to travel on a regular basis within Canada and USA Minimum 2 years of experience in retail and/or retail buying Experience with ERPs considered an asset
