Job Description

We are looking for full time labourers to support our team. The Ground Support is responsible for day-to-day duties on site needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion and maintain a clean work site. This position requires the ground support to work long hours in a fast-paced environment and in extreme weather conditions. This position must also adhere to our safety program and work as a contributing member of the site team. Responsibilities:

• Ensure all company safety policies and procedures are followed
• Be cognizant of and adhere to any site-specific safety requirements
• Partake in all safety related meetings including: daily tail gates, last minute risk assessment, etc.
• Work on train derailments, railway track maintenance, installing track panels
• Spotting for trucks
• Chaining/rigging
• Must have an understanding of all power and small tools
• Clean, lubricate and fuel all equipment and general site housekeeping
• Notify supervisor and or repair shop of any required work to be done
• Required to be on call 24-7 for Emergency response out of town work
• Other related duties as required

Qualifications:

• General laboring and or farm experience an asset but not required
• Valid Class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license is required
• Track maintenance experience will be an asset
• Basic comprehension and ability to follow the company Workplace Health and Safety requirements relevant to the assigned work site, including but not limited to safety and hazard assessment process
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving containers and other heavy materials
• Strong work ethic and willingness to persevere through difficult weather conditions, challenging work site environments, and long demanding work days
• Willingness to work away from home if necessary, moving from project to project as required
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting a minimum of 75lbs, working in confined spaces, standing for an extended period of time, frequent use of ladders and working at heights
• Ability to manage weather and/or seasonal interruptions in work schedule
• Fit-for-Work each day
