The Infrastructure, Transportation & Parks department requires two (2) regular full-time Labourer 2s in the Streets Section.
Responsibilities
You will assist and participate in routine construction and maintenance tasks on job sites including performing traffic control duties.
You will operate a variety of compressor tools such as jackhammers, tampers and drills; rake asphalt; prepare road base for paving; act as a signalman for equipment operators; assist in the construction repairs, pruning maintenance and perform related semi-skilled tasks on roads and pavements.
Requirements
You will have considerable experience in general construction and maintenance work, and good knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment particularly as it relates to road paving and repairs. You must have a demonstrated ability to perform heavy physical laboring / manual work. A valid Class 5 Drivers License is required. You must also be able to deal effectively with the public and embrace values such as teamwork, respect, a positive attitude, professionalism and integrity.
Compensation
$33.26 per hour
(January 2024 rates)
Hours of Work
7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
