is a large steel fabrication and repair facility located in the Fort McKay Caribou Energy Park. Strategically positioned in the heart of Alberta's Oil Sands, WHI is able to effectively meet the requirements for large steel repair, assembly and refurbishment in the industry.


We are looking for a Laborer/ Painter. This role will be a 5x2 schedule, 8 hours per day.

What you will do:

Estimate the quantity of material required by measuring surfaces or reviewing a work order Remove old paint coating by wire brushing, blasting with water or sand, sanding or applying solvents or heat to strip it off Prepare the surface by cleaning, filling nail holes and cracks, and sanding rough spots to smooth the area for painting Use brushes, rollers or spray guns to apply liquid coatings such as paint, stain or varnish to surfaces Apply an undercoat primer or sealer before painting Use premixed paints, or by mixing color, and pigment with oil and thinning and drying additives, to match specified colors Apply finishes that are sponged, ragged and layered

Your qualifications:

Experience in Industrial Painting is considered an asset

What you bring to the position:

Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others Time management, organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to lift items weighing up to 50lbs. Excellent safety record
